Biography
I have always been fascinated by stories. As a child I read everything I could get my hands on and started making up my own little stories in text and drawings. Throughout secondary school I made a comic strip or an illustrated novel every summer holiday. My short stories and poems were published in magazines and newspapers. I regularly won writing contests. I come from a creative family so am very lucky to always have been supported in my projects. My mother, for example, is a kindergarten teacher and a painter and a sculptor. It was self-evident that I should do something with my passions. In 2005 I graduated from the Art Academy St. Joost in Illustration. In 2008 I started my blog for which I regularly wrote articles about illustration, writing and my existence as a freelancer. In 2013 I graduated from Script+ in Amsterdam for 'Writing for children' where I was taught by writers including such as Mirjam Oldenhave. I'm a member of the Association of Writers and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
